Platform Terms
Last updated: 05/11/2026
1. Who we are
QuoteMyEvent operates this online event-services marketplace.
2. What QuoteMyEvent does
QuoteMyEvent is an online marketplace. Hosts post an event they are planning, and verified suppliers (such as caterers, photographers, DJs and venues) send quotes for the services they offer. Hosts compare quotes and choose who to book.
QuoteMyEvent provides a platform for hosts and suppliers to find one another, exchange information, compare quotes and record bookings. QuoteMyEvent does not supply event services and is not a party to the agreement for those services between a host and a supplier.
Hosts and suppliers must agree the services, price, payment arrangements, deposits (if any), changes, cancellations and any refund terms directly with each other. The supplier is responsible for delivering the agreed services, and the host and supplier are responsible for resolving any disagreement about those services or payments between themselves. QuoteMyEvent does not collect or hold payments for event services, issue refunds on a supplier's behalf or decide cancellation or service disputes.
We may still investigate reports of misuse of the QuoteMyEvent platform and take action under our marketplace rules. This is separate from deciding a dispute about an event-service contract. Nothing in these terms removes any rights or responsibilities that apply under UK law.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create and hold a QuoteMyEvent account, whether you register as a host or a supplier. Some accounts can switch between host and supplier modes. You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
4. Posting an event
- Posting an event is free for hosts.
- Your event is matched to verified suppliers by the services they offer and by the distance from your event postcode to the area they cover.
- For each service category on an event, up to five suppliers can send a quote.
- You can withdraw an event, provided you have not already confirmed a booking for it.
5. Quotes and bookings
- You open a full quote to read its details and terms. You choose whether to accept it.
- When you confirm a booking, your contact details are shared with the supplier you booked, and theirs with you. They are not shared before then.
- Suppliers must be verified before they can quote. Verification is a check of the profile details and the insurance certificate they provide when they apply.
6. Messages and keeping contact details private
Until a booking is confirmed, you must not share phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles or other ways of contacting you outside QuoteMyEvent. We filter messages for contact details and may record repeated attempts. Files sent in messages are reviewed by us before the other person can open them.
7. Reviews and reports
Reviews and reports are covered by our Review and Report Rules. Supplier photographs are covered by our Photo Rights page.
8. What we charge
Hosts pay QuoteMyEvent nothing. We charge suppliers only through the sale of tokens, which suppliers use to respond to events. We take no commission and no booking fee, and we do not take payment for event services: what a host pays a supplier is agreed and paid between them.
9. Acting fairly and our moderation
We may remove content, hide a review, suspend an account or close an event where it breaks these terms, our other policies or the law. Where we act on a supplier's account the Supplier Terms set out the process, including appeals.
10. Problems, changes and the law
Complaints about QuoteMyEvent
If you have a complaint about your QuoteMyEvent account, how the platform works, a token transaction, a safety report or a moderation decision, contact our support team using the contact details published on this website. Tell us what happened and include any relevant booking or report reference, without sending passwords or payment-card details. We will review the complaint, acknowledge it within a reasonable period and keep you informed if we need more time. Existing supplier appeal rules still apply to warnings and strikes.
Complaints about a supplier's event services, including delivery, cancellation, deposits, payments or refunds, must be raised directly with that supplier. QuoteMyEvent does not take payment for those services and cannot reverse those payments or determine a dispute between the host and supplier. We may separately investigate misuse of our marketplace or unlawful content, but that does not make us a party to their contract.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the website, our services or the law. We will publish the updated wording and its effective date on this page. Where a change materially affects users' rights or responsibilities, we will take reasonable steps to give advance notice, such as by email or an account notification, unless a legal, security or other urgent reason requires an earlier change. Changes will not take away rights that have already arisen under the law.
Our responsibilities and your rights
QuoteMyEvent provides tools for finding suppliers, exchanging quotes and messages, and recording bookings. Suppliers, not QuoteMyEvent, are responsible for the event services they agree to deliver. We do not guarantee that a supplier will respond, be available or fulfil a booking. Suppliers and hosts should check one another's details and agree service terms before making payments or commitments.
We remain responsible for our own obligations in operating QuoteMyEvent. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are acting as a consumer, your statutory rights, including rights relating to services supplied with reasonable care and skill, remain unaffected.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This does not remove mandatory legal protections available to consumers in Scotland, Northern Ireland or elsewhere. Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from bringing proceedings in a court where applicable law gives them that right.
